David is a business psychologist who has been coaching senior leaders and their teams since 1997.
He has coached Directors and senior managers and their teams in a diverse range of industry sectors including: oil and gas, the utilities, banking, consultancy, hospitality, central government and the health sector, as well as manufacturing. Whilst mainly UK based, David regularly engages in international projects, which have included travel to Singapore, Russia, Egypt, Dubai, Germany, Austria, Denmark, Ireland, USA, Belgium and Canada. David has a distinctive approach to business performance coaching, which draws from an unusual background of commercial ‘front line’ business experience combined with extensive coaching and consulting expertise. Clients describe David’s approach as calm and respectful as well as performance focused, detailed and often challenging.
In 1999 David was appointed Managing Director of The School of Coaching a UK business that develops the performance coaching capacity of Senior Executives. Over the following two years, together with Myles Downey, its founder, David led and presided over the establishment of The School, which is now widely recognized as one of the UK’s foremost business coaching organisations. David was a Member of the School’s Faculty from 1997 until 2009. He is an Associate for the Center for Creative Leadership in Brussels the global leadership development organisation; and is also on the NHS Register of Coaches serving CEOs, Board and functional directors. David has a BA (Hons); an MBA and a Diploma in Psychology. He has a Certificate in Performance Coaching (University of Strathclyde); he is a Team Learning Master Coach and a Trained Coaching Supervisor (Bath Consultancy Group). David has Conditional Registration as a Chartered Occupational Psychologist (BPS). He is a member of the British Psychological Society; the BPS Special Group in Coaching Psychology and is a Fellow of the Royal Society for the Arts.
